Frequently Asked Questions

Are these your wedding colors?

No. Jenn doesn't understand everyone's insistence that weddings must come with an Official Color Scheme. But in case you were wondering, the ladies in the wedding party will be wearing dark "berry" red floor-length gowns.

Where are you registered?

We are currently registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and Crate & Barrel.

I am vegetarian/gluten-free/Kosher/allergic to shellfish/etc. What should I do?

We have selected an appetizer and entree that we hope most people will enjoy. However, if you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know as soon as possible. The chef will be happy to accommodate you, but can only do so if you let us know in advance.

What should I wear?

This is an evening wedding. If you're not sure what to wear, we suggest dark suits for men and evening gowns or cocktail dresses for women.

Should I host a bridal shower?

No. Instead of throwing another lavish party, please treat yourself to a good time when you come to Philadelphia for the wedding. We do have plans in the works for some exciting pre-wedding getaway weekends though, including a bachelorette party in New Orleans in late March.

Where is the honeymoon?

We've finally booked tickets! We're flying into Paris and out of Rome... the rest is to be determined.

Are you changing your name(s)?

Jenn's feminist side and her pragmatic side are at odds over this issue, but it looks like the pragmatist is going to win. It's simply not feasible to double last names every generation. We considered taking on a brand new last name to boost our alphabetic status (Jenn and Jeff Aardvark? Jenn and Jeff Aaughan?), but couldn't find one that fit. Jenn's current plan is to take Vaughan as her "official" last name, but to keep Wortman as her middle name, using Jennifer Wortman Vaughan professionally. She's working on convincing Jeff to take Wortman as a middle name too, as a sign of solidarity, but no official agreement has been reached.
